Yanelli and Rogelio met in the summer of 2013 at Rogelio’s sister’s house during a slip-and-slide party celebrating the end of the school year. Yanelli was 14, Rogelio was 13, and neither of them knew that a carefree summer day would turn into a lifelong love story. Rogelio thought Yanelli was cute and, with a little encouragement, worked up the courage to message her. Yanelli, on the other hand, noticed how tall Rogelio was… and wasn't immediately convinced. Still, something clicked. Whenever Yanelli needed anything, Rogelio was always there. They went on long walks, shared their first kiss at the end of those walks, and slowly grew closer despite the awkwardness that comes with two quiet teenagers figuring each other out. Their first official date even came with a surprise guest: Yanelli’s sister, who was very much forced to be the chaperone. After getting to know each other, Rogelio asked Yanelli to be his girlfriend on June 29, 2013. From that moment on, they never really left each other’s side.
