Ask Sean how we met and you'll probably get a slightly different version ... Costco Gas station opens at 7am and since it was a Sunday, there's no better plan than to get gas as early as possible. I pulled up at exactly 7am and wondered why there cars were still lined up outside. After a few minutes, the driver of the first car got out and moved the cones to the side, and drove into the lanes. I found an available station and tapped my Costco Card, only to find out that the pump is locked. It's 7:15, maybe they're running late. An ignoramous on gas-pumping and an actual newbie to Costco, I thought this was a normal thing. "Wolfrik is getting antsy. I should probably wait inside the car..." A white Jeep pulled up behind me and did EXACTLY what I did. The dude had a very confused look in his face. In hindsight, I shouldn't have laughed because I probably had the same dumb look on my face. :P He came over and asked what was going on. Wolfrik was going nuts. I decided to get out of the car and engage in a conversation. This is Dewi 2.0 anyway! Gotta start talking to strangers. Gotta take the opportunities the universe is sending my way! Talked about coffee and dogs. He had a cute smile underneath the crazy unkempt beard, LOL. He said hello to Wolfrik and i think they got along. Blurry on the details here :P I suddenly realized it was Easter Sunday and asked if they would be closed. Et voila... Conundrum solved. He said we should go out for coffee some time and have the dogs play. I am not completely clear on how he asked for my number and how I just gave it willingly to a complete stranger! As soon as I got home, he sent me a text asking if I wanna meet up in an hour or so... Damn, white men act fast! I had to ask "Are coffee shops open on Easter Sunday?" :D He gave me Conocido Park's coordinates, Wolfrik and I were on our way in a half hour. Sean surprised me with coffee and... wait for it... a rose. Seriously, WHO DOES THAT?!?!? He told me all about Makyleigh - it is clear she is his whole life. He mentioned he does disc golf - OH BOY. "are those the guys that play with frisbees and get in the way of my doggie walks???" :D I dont think he drank his coffee. HE DOESNT DRINK COFFEE! But hey - i give him props. We got to texting a lot. I met his freind in less than 2 weeks and met Makayleigh in less than 3. Like I said, white men are fast :P The rest, you ALL know about.

Most of you know me as an early riser. I like to wake up and get things done! On Easter Sunday, 2022 I remember waking up, making breakfast and washing my jeep before heading to Costco to gas up. I got to Costco around 7am and parked behind a white 4runner. I got out of my car to fill my tank only to see padlocks on the pumps. WTH!? I would usually just drive to another gas station, but this time I saw a cute girl that was in the same predicament. My friends also know me as someone who is outgoing and willing to talk to anyone. I walked up to the cute girl in the 4runner and asked if she knew why the pumps were locked. She had no idea why. After introducing myself, and learning how to properly pronounce her name (Debbie but instead of "bb" with a "w"), we both realized it was Easter Sunday! How am I supposed to know this?? Im JEWISH!! after having a quick laugh I noticed her big dog in the back of the car and asked to say hi. Wolfrik, a distinguished not so gentle gentleman of a dog. Now I had my chance. "I have a dog...uh...we should walk our dogs and maybe grab some coffee sometime" She said YES! We exchanged numbers and went on our own ways. So obviously, instead of waiting a day or five... I called Dewi about 30 minutes after Costco and asked her out to a coffee and doggy date at the park. She was a little surprised to hear from me so quickly but she said YES! I grabbed some starbucks, which I never drink, a single red rose and met Dewi at my local disc golf park with my litttle corgi Hazel. Hazel is a chick magnet and made this way easier for me. We both arrived at the park, Hazel and I walked over to her car carrying coffee and the rose I saw the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. She was so caught off guard that I had gotten her a flower. In this moment my heart skipped a beat. We hung out at the park for about an hour or so but it flew by so fast. I knew this woman was special and I wanted her in my life. Well.... thats the cheesy version. When people ask how we met, I tell everyone we met at Costco gas. When I pulled up, Dewi approached me and could not keep her eyes off of me. She fell for me at first glance... annnd here we are today. over 2 years later, living in a house we bought together, a blended family with our 2 dogs and my beautiful 16 year old daughter, about to get married. I am the luckiest man in the world to have Dewi in my life.
