Damian and I met in Summer 2019. We matched on a dating profile and decided to go bowling for our first date (very typical place as I love bowling still to this day). We bowled for about two hours and talked outside for hours before going home. We continued talking for a couple months, but then alongside some discussions and leaving for college, we parted ways as I left for Riverside. Damian reached back out in 2022, but was saddened to discover I was in a relationship at that time. He then reached back out a third and final time in 2023, and we were inseparable since then. Third times the charm ;) We talked endless amounts of time on the phone, watching Love is Blind, Ultimatum, and a bunch more romance based films and series on Netflix. We were friends, but didn’t know we had feelings for each other yet, except he actually did. One day I decided to get furniture from IKEA and ask Damian if he could help build the dressers. As we walked around the store seeing home decorations, laughing, and imagining homes and things we had a moment that I couldn’t resist I felt chemistry towards Damian and started developing some feelings. We ended up becoming exclusive about a month or two after this day, and the rest is history. To others our love is abrupt, sudden, maybe even a little reckless. To me, our love is patient, kind, non-envious. He is selfless in the way he provides for me and caters to my every need and emotion. No man has stepped up in the way that he has and I know for a fact there is absolutely no one else I would rather spend the rest of my life with; working, growing, keeping Jesus in the middle of our relationship.
