Our story begins the modern way with a simple swipe. We met through a dating website, and Connor planned our very first date. To be honest, it was awkward for both of us. Connor was quiet, Yajaira was shy. But even with the awkwardness, something felt different… something felt right. When Connor asked for a second date, Yajaira wasn’t completely sure at first but once we clicked, everything became easy, natural, and comfortable. From that moment on, we were inseparable. Eighteen months later, our biggest blessing arrived: our beautiful daughter Julianna Grace. She became the heart of our world and made our bond even stronger. There are so many things we cherish about each other. Yajaira loves Connor’s silliness the goofy, playful side he shows once he’s comfortable. He truly is her best friend. Connor loves how sweet and outgoing Yajaira is. He loves how she loves, and how simple, genuine, and warm her spirit is. And one of the most meaningful parts of our journey has been watching our families and cultures come together. Connor and his family have welcomed not just Yajaira, but her family and her culture with open arms. Connor has always embraced Yajaira’s culture as much as she does helping her mom cook cultural dishes, learning Spanish so he can communicate with her family, and fully diving into all the traditions and celebrations that are important to her. Yajaira’s family absolutely adores him. Her parent's always says they balance each other perfectly: the calm one and the outgoing one, the quiet strength and the bold energy. Seeing our families blend so naturally has made our love even richer and stronger. On August 9th, 2025, with the help of Connor’s amazing family, we headed to the beach for what Yajaira thought were just “family pictures.” Little did she know, Connor was getting ready to propose. When he got down on one knee, she was shocked and filled with so much love. Our story is full of awkward beginnings, sweet surprises, laughter, love, and the joy of sharing our lives and families together. We’re so excited not only to build our future together, but also to join our families into one beautiful, loving circle. And now, we can’t wait to begin this next chapter as one.
