Georgia Activities

We've put together some of our favorite things, and places to eat in Atlanta. We've organized it the list by activities, and then food. But if you need more recommendations don't hesitate to ask.

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Marietta

ACTIVITY - We love this place for kids and adults. They have laser tag, indoor go karts (for both little kids and adults), and arcade games. Ashley is the raining champ of the adult go karts!

High Museum of Art

ACTIVITY - Currently exhibiting Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

World of Coca-Cola

121 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313

ACTIVITY - An Atlanta staple! Good for both kids and adults. If planning to go, look at the city pass option, which allows you entry into World of Coke, The Aquarium (right next door) and The Atlanta Zoo.

Georgia Aquarium

225 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313

ACTIVITY - The Georgia Aquarium boasts 10 million gallons of fresh and saltwater and holds dozens of unique animals. Good for both kids and adults. If planning to go look at the city pass option, which allows you entry into World of Coke (right next door), The Aquarium and The Atlanta Zoo.

Zoo Atlanta

ACTIVITY - Highlights include one of North America's largest populations of great apes, including gorillas and orangutans, and the rare experience of seeing giant pandas. If planning to go, look at the city pass option, which allows you entry into World of Coke, The Aquarium and The Atlanta Zoo.

The Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail

ACTIVITY - We love walking the belt line between Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and stops to grab a bit along the way. You can even pop into the markets for even more options and shops.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

ACTIVITY - We got engaged at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. They currently have the Alice and Wonderland Exhibit up.

Fun Spot America Theme Parks — Atlanta

ACTIVITY - Ashley grew up going to this local "theme park" designed with kids in mind. Fun fact it use to be called Dixieland.

Stone Mountain Park

Stone Mountain, GA

ACTIVITY - This is a fun family activity. If wanting a challenge you can hike up-- Louie loves this hike!-- or take the tram to the top. They have lots to keep busy: Dinosaur Explore | Dinotorium | 4D Theater | Mini-Golf | Scenic Railroad | Summit Skyride Dan, and Ashley hiked Stone Mountain with Louie on the day they got engaged :)

Truist Park

ACTIVITY- Dan is a huge Atlanta Braves Fan. You can tour the stadium, for inside views of the entire stadium, or go see a game (The Pirates are in town!). Friday night games feature fireworks! You can find tickets on Stubhub.com If you go, we recommend eating at Superica prior to the game, or grabbing an H&F burger (an ATL staple).

Topgolf

ACTIVITY- Top Golf features fun golf games with a full service bar and restaurant (although Ashley doesn't recommend the food).

Owens and Hull at Grand Champion

6255 Riverview Road Southeast, Mableton, GA 30126

FOOD- This is Ashley's Brother's BBQ restaurant. We may be biased, but we do think its hands down the best. Try to go early, or let Ashley know you going as he tends to sell out early in the day. (No reservations) $$

Superica

99 Krog Street Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307

Food- This is one of our go-to's. It good quality Tex-Mex. Their cocktails are really good also! Multiple locations throughout Atlanta, although we recommend either the Krog City Market location, or Truist Park (No reservations) $$

The Varsity

61 North Avenue Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30308

FOOD- An Atlanta Institution. This place is very casual and great for kids. Ashley recommends getting the frosted orange, and fries. (No reservations) $

The Dwarf House- Fayetteville

221 Banks Station, Fayetteville, GA 30214

FOOD- Chick-fil-A is an OG Atlanta restaurant. The Dwarf House's are special locations featuring a Dwarf Door for kids, and a full sit down restaurant in half of the space. Ashley and her mom use to go to this location and get southern side. (No reservation required) $

South City Kitchen Midtown

1144 Crescent Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30309

FOOD - This is where Ashley and Dan went for Brunch the day they got engaged (yum!) Its authentic Southern Cuisine, good for both Brunch and Dinner. (Reservations Recommend) $$$

Little Alley Steak

3500 Lenox Road Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30326

FOOD- This is our favorite steakhouse in Atlanta. Don't miss out on the side and the special butter add ons to the steaks! (Reservations Required) $$$$

Grindhouse Killer Burgers

701 Memorial Drive Southeast, Atlanta, GA 30316

FOOD- An Atlanta only burger spot, think In&Out . There are multiple locations. (No Reservations) $

Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall

684 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30312

FOOD- Good food, good vibes outdoor restaurant that features local craft beers. Its accessible from the Belt Line, so a great place to stop and grab a bite as you walk. (No Reservations) $$

New Realm Brewing Co.

550 Somerset Terrace Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306

FOOD/ ACTIVITY- This is a fun outdoor brewery that often has live music, and good vibes. Located on the Belt Line, its easy to pop into and spend a few hours people watching! (No Reservations) $$
