It's a tale as old as time: Boy hosts alternative “roast-style” comedy show, aspiring girl comedian meets him outside to bum a smoke before her set...and the rest is history!

On the first day of August, John was installing mirrors for Xrystal's dance studio. They had been living together for eight months, and discussed getting married. They would have a jeweler set a purchased ruby into a ring Xrystal already owned, for practical reasons. Xrystal noticed John was acting anxious and “weird”, so she disassociated immediately. When he asked her to take a look the mirrors for the studio, already on one knee.. he proposed! Opening a box containing her “practical” ring, Xrystal noticed a stark lack of rock. The thing that makes a ring an engagement ring! She immediately worried something went wrong until John replied, “Ohhh wait, this isn't your ring..” Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a brand spanking new rose gold engagement ring with a Burmese Ruby. “THIS is your ring.” And then, she said yes! “Okay, close your eyes, I got you something!” John turned Xrystal away from the laptop until she heard a cartoonishly Brooklyn wise-guy voice. “Is that Michael Rappaport?” she asked. It was ! The first one to congratulate them was actor/comedian Michael Rapaport. He also managed to roast John a bit, and wished them well on their exciting new journey.
