“Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

June 2, 2022, was Carly's friend Kristin and Ian's friend, Brooks Miller's rehearsal dinner. Little did Carly know she'd be sitting across from her future husband and Ian across from his future wife! They chatted a bit but went their separate ways until seeing each other on their friend's wedding day. After the wedding, the two parted again until August when Kristin and Brooks got a group of friends together to play pickleball. Neither knew each other would be there, but were pleasantly surprised to see another. There on the pickleball court is where Carly and Ian reconnected for the last time. After a few texts, an official "date" was set. August 7th, 2022 the couple went on their last "first date" ever. Neither expected the date to go as well as it did...come to find out God had a very different plan!

"When you know you know." Cliche but true! never in a million years did Carly or Ian think 8 months into dating they'd be ready to say "yes" to forever. God had brought such peace, comfort, and joy through their relationship the two knew they had met their forever best friend. On May 20, 2023, Ian insisted on taking Carly to a nice restaurant (a bit different than the typical ChickFila they love). Once they arrived Ian said he'd "mixed up" the reservation time and wanted to take a walk to the WW1 Memorial down the street. As they began their trek through downtown KC, Carly had a feeling something was up Ian's sleeve. I can't forget to mention she was hangry, sweaty, hot, and wearing very uncomfy shoes...recipe for a date night disaster! The last thing she wanted to do was walk a mile in the heat. Carly's suspicions were confirmed when he practically pulled her up the hill and popped the question in the same place where their love story began. With no hesitation, she said "Yes!!!" and the next chapter of their lives unfolded. They are so thankful you can join the fun:)
