The butterflies, the blushing, cornered conversations, and accelerating heart beats bloomed a few years ago working in Nampa, Idaho. They helped each other through some hard times, discussed life, stories, childhood, family, goals, strengths and weaknesses. Their caring friendship turned into something they couldn't ignore. Shae made Kegan all sorts of goodies subconsciously knowing this would aid in the decision to be with her... okay okay yes she knew it would help ;) Kegan also brought Shae some goodies after a dog quarrel and deep bite into the knee and stayed to watch movies and help her since she was with crutches. So I guess you can say.. food is pretty important to them... thus they fell in love. They often frequented a place that used to be in existence called The Fix where they would share a gourmet cup of hot cocoa called "The Twix" and enjoy conversation with one another. First Date: They went to Merrit's Cafe in Boise. They both savored some hot cocoa, Shae ordered biscuits and gravy, Kegan ordered a scone (fried bread, elephant ear, etc) knowing Shae would also want that.. again.. a true love moment hence he let her eat some. Shae had a doctor appointment shortly after. Reluctant to let her go just yet, Kegan took her to the appointment and sat there in the waiting room for her, too. First time any guy had the patience to sit and wait with her just to be by her side.. so precious. Another memorable moment: Kegan came to a family reunion in Oregon and got to meet Shae's ENTIRE family... not nerve racking at all for a shy guy. Not only was it memorable for that reason, but sitting at Grandma Linda's house watching the sunset over the hills and the Umpqua River they romanticized about getting engaged one day and how he would want to propose.

The Proposal: We all took a trip to Oregon to visit family over memorial weekend. My family watched the kids while my sister Adelynn, Kegan and I went for a hike at Smith Rock state park. I felt like something was fishy, but continued about my doings. When we got to the top Kegan planned to propose and have Addy catch it on camera, but out of pure exhaustion or obliviousness, she asked to put her phone in the backpack. Kegan and I sat at the top gazing out at the beautiful view. He wrapped his arms around me and popped the big question holding out the ring he picked out! Just hiking this trail with me was already so knightly of him haha so I said yes ;) We ended up getting pictures after the fact, he also didn't let me wear it until we were safely back in the car after our hike.
