Jay and Xo met through a social networking group, Black Millennials of Dallas in April 2021. Jay begin to pursue Xo through Instagram and eventually offered to take her out bowling. From there, sparks continued to grow and the connection deepened. It was a journey that eventually led to a beautiful relationship.

On March 5, 2022 Jay planned out the most amazing engagement. Jay was able to surprise me during a dance competition by coming out on stage and singing what is "our song" from The Greatest Showman, "A Million Dreams". I was beyond shocked because the studio director and a few others were all in on it. I was instructed to stand at the back of the auditorium to take a group photo for the studio and the next thing I know, Jay is on stage singing! I was stunned and almost couldn't move. It was when Jay started walking towards me that I figured out what was happening. We got to the stage and he dropped to one knee, and then I saw the ring and couldn't wait to say YES!!! We were ENGAGED!!
