We’re Getting Married!

Xiomara and Evan have happily spent the past 8+ years together after meeting at Firehouse Subs, where they started working together in 2011. Taken in by Evan’s charms and quick wit, and he by Xiomara’s lovable allure, the two passed the better of almost 2 years (!) sending each other googly eyes and flirty come-hithers, until Xiomara eventually took the chance to ask Evan out on their first date. That long-awaited first date at AMC Theatre, where they saw “Thor 2” together, was all it took for their relationship to bloom. They’ve been together ever since!

Xiomara and Evan moved into their first apartment together in Monroe, where they adopted their two fur babies – Kayla, their affectionate dachshund, and Ace, their snuggly tabby cat.

Evan and Xiomara were celebrating their anniversary with a cozy night in out of the cold, where they planned to decorate their Christmas tree. Unfortunately, after going to the trouble of putting up the lights, they came to realize that the strand would not light up! As their eagerly awaited hopes for the night seemed they might be dashed, they began searching for easy solutions. Dismayed that Evan may have been planning to pop a certain question at just the right moment, Xiomara felt herself tearing up. Rather, she determined that they would still make this a perfect night and began to place their wrapped gifts under the unlit tree. Then, putting on their coats to brave the cold, they found themselves at the local dollar store, purchasing brand new lights to ensure their tree would shine. Back home and thawed out once more, they strung the lights and enjoyed a warm, delivered meal together while Elf played comfortably in the background. At last, it was time to put up the ornaments! Evan began to pull them out of their boxes, handing them to Xiomara to find a place on the tree. After fluffing up the branches and turning to Evan for the next, she found him on one knee, asking the all-important question: “Will you marry me?”

Xiomara and Evan welcomed their baby boy, Leonidas (Leo) Michael Brooks, into their lives.

Evan and Xiomara purchased their first and current home in Morrow, OH, where they plan to raise Leo and make wonderful memories together!
