Flight

Milan

We recommend flying into Milan Malpensa (MXP). This is the international airport in Milan and the closest airport to Lake Como. In Milan there are several things to do from the beautiful gothic cathedral Duomo di Milano to viewing Da Vinci's famous mural The Last Supper to the amazing Fashion District for luxury shopping.

Train

Milan Centrale to Varenna Esino

From the Milan Centrale train station you will take a train to the Varenna-esino station. The journey takes one hour and is around $10 per person. We recommend using the trenitalia.com website to book so you can have your ticket on your phone which will allow you to validate it yourself instead of looking for a stamp machine. Please note to avoid fines every train ticket you purchase in Italy must be validated, either on an app upon check-in or a stamp on a physical ticket.

Travel Note

Ferry Boats to Bellagio

From the Varenna Esino train station it is a 10 minute walk to the ferry boats where you can purchase a ticket to Bellagio. It is a 25 minute journey and around $10.

Hotel

Agriturismo Il Colle Bellagio

We will be staying at The Agriturismo Il Colle Bellagio in the Bellagio area of Lake Como. Our reception dinner is in Bellagio and to avoid having to take a boat late at night, we recommend booking a hotel in this area. The closer to the docks, the easier it will be to travel around Lake Como.
