They swiped RIGHT! Bumble, is how they started their connection. Right away their conversations were deep and connected. This then lead them to be like, WAIT is this person real! After messaging back and forth they decided it was time for a FaceTime date! That FaceTime date lasted over 5 hours, with them just laughing, connecting, and just being real with each other. At that point in their lives they had both just given up on finding love, they thought it just wasn't in our cards. But, something about the way they kept each other laughing and talking for hours made them more curious. So their first date was set. It was time to meet in person. There was just something about the strong connection bringing them to each other. As if God had this planned all along.

The first in person date was at El Beso! Nervous Marlene arrived early and waited to see if this person was real. The first thought when Marlene saw Xavier for the first time was, holy crap he's tall. At dinner they talked for more hours. Just feeling this connection pulling them together. They didn't want the night to end just yet. SO they headed over to the arcade where they continued laughing and talking. That was the start of many long phone calls and dates.

Xavier was not sure about marriage as he had been hurt before. Marlene had strong beliefs in finding her one person before actually committing her life to someone forever. On their one year anniversary Marlene wrote Xavier a letter with her vows to him. She asked if he would marry her Xavier laughed and just kissed her forehead. This then turned into a joke about well if you really want to marry me for real, you ask me for real. Marlene who doesn't back down... when she knows what she wants..Was like okay...bet.. This then lead to the planning of Marlene purposing with the help and advice from her sister Crystal and Stacy Xavier's long life best friend/brother. The last camping trip was booked and plans were in motion. Marlene planned to purpose while hiking that Saturday. As they hiked Marlene kept getting more and more nervous. The boys were playing sling shot wars while hiking. And well Xavier was going hard with the boys and got defeated. After he lost, Stacy took the opportunity to set it up for Marlene to purpose. Stacy faked animal tracks for Xavier to come look at. While Marlene got down on one knee, he turned around surprised. Marlene could barely talk she was so nervous and ended up saying, "So you want to do this, the good days and the bad days, through the ups and downs, will you marry me?" HE said yes! And just like that they were engaged with the promise to love one another forever.
