A Queens girls, and a Florida boy?! I know you're wondering how they got here. Well...it all started during an icy February at University at Albany. It was final semester of senior year where Xavier and Chanelle had a Social Media Analytics class together. After falling in like at first sight, Xavier wanted to shoot his shot, but class kept getting cancelled due to snow days (typical Albany, NY). After 3 back to back cancelled classes, and with the encouragement of his boys, Xavier decided to send Chanelle a very polite introductory greeting on Facebook, or as it's also known, slid in the DMs. Chanelle, skeptical given he was an athlete, replied back after hearing from a very reliable source that Xavier was a true Southern gentleman. They kicked it off like Bella & Edward from Twilight as Chanelle would like to say, or Quincy & Monica from Love & Basketball as Xavier would like to say. (Although, Chanelle has no athletic bone in her body unless you include bowling...) Fast forward. Their first date was at one of the worlds finest dinning establishments, Chili's. They both ordered the Triple Dippers. This let Chanelle know it was pretty serious at that point. But graduation came, and distance came. Xavier moved back to the Sunshine State, Chanelle stayed in New York, and they both pursued their careers. But what's long distance when you have $30 Spirit flights? They both still have back problems til' this day due to all of those budget flights but it was well worth it. Six years and 1,220,611 frequent flyer miles later, Xavier proposed to Chanelle after the most beautiful date at a couple of their favorite places. Chanelle, of course, without a doubt said "YASSS!!" So, what's the moral of this story? Well first, never be afraid to shoot your shot, and second, never be afraid to reply to a DM after very substantial research. Lmao JK! :) We can't wait to celebrate with y'all this September! Show love, its the Brooklyn way! <3
