We met blindly.... and Fell for each other. Rather reluctantly, Heidi and Xander were set up on a blind date by none other than Heidi's Father and Xander's good friend Joseph. While neither had high expectations for this date, both were excited for the date activity of the night... Axe Throwing. Cuz ya know, even if your date is a dud at least you get to throw axes!! Well turns out both of us not only enjoyed throwing axes, but we also enjoyed each others company. Thus started a beautiful friendship that blossomed into a beautiful love. Xander's enthusiasm for adventure matched Heidi's previously unparalleled zeal for life. We settled quickly into a rhythm of intentional dating sprinkled in with some spontaneous adventure. We both love adventure, travel, being active, spending time with family, trying something new, and a quiet game night at home. Most importantly, our Faith is very important to each of us and we feel immensely blessed that the good Lord brought us together so unexpectedly.
Well as it turns out, Bible study was canceled this night (Thanks Paul and Casey). So Xander told Heidi he wanted to take her out to dinner. It was go time! Heidi came home after a day out and about to a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a card that indicated a special night was in store for her. Xander picked her up and took her out to the Golden Lamb for an amazing dinner, complete with table side carolers. Although it was cold out, Xander insisted we go for a walk around downtown Lebanon, which Heidi happily obliged. As we were walking towards the Christmas lit gazebo, Xander suddenly knelt down to "tie his shoe". Heidi's stomached dropped, is it really happening here. Psych, he stood up and kept walking (thanks Janien). We made it to the gazebo, he got down on one knee and proposed. Heidi said yes! Have you seen the ring?! Good job Xander Good job!
