Our Beginning

December 12, 2014

Jen and Ryan were both attending UW-Eau Claire at the time, and happened to be enrolled in the same Gym Credit - Volleyball. Both were competitive, and what started as a playful rivalry eventually turned into a friendship. The two found that they had a lot in common and would spend time playing basketball, watching movies, and discussing nerd culture. Ryan asked Jen to officially be his girlfriend on a day that meant a lot to him.....Dec 12, 2014, or as he so lovingly calls it, Aaron Rodgers Day (12-12). Jen still likes him.

The Proposal

May 18, 2018

Ryan had a nice picnic planned for him and Jen to enjoy at High Cliff State Park on a perfect Friday afternoon. The weather was as ideal as you can have in Wisconsin complete with cloudless blue skies, a light breeze, and the day off of work! They enjoyed food and beverages, then went for a walk through the many trails High Cliff has to offer. At one point Ryan pulls Jen out onto a beautiful ledge surrounded by trees and overlooking Lake Winnebago. He used some cheesy line like, "You know what would make this day better", as he held Jen in his arms...then he got down on one knee and forever changed Jen's life! She said yes of course, after she stopped sobbing tears of joy.

COVID Marriage

Everything was smooth sailing until a few months before the big day....COVID-19. Ryan and Jen quickly decided to change plans a bit to help do our part during the pandemic. The decision was made to go forward with getting married on May 2020, but to postpone the Reception until May 2021. The couple was extremely fortunate to experience an intimate ceremony with close family and friends, complete with beautiful weather and a surprise crowd outside of the church to celebrate the newly weds! As great as that day was, the couple is greatly looking forward to celebrating the reception with extended family and friends and appreciate everyone's patience.
