Can't make it to Yellowstone? We bet you can make it to Grand Teton National Park! It's literally on the way to Yellowstone (you drive through it)... and you get to enjoy some of the most beautiful views of these famed mountains along the way. Did we mention this is the only Nation Park with an airport located in its borders?
This little-known National Park is one you MUST take some time to explore. If you can add even one extra day onto your trip to explore this insane, beautiful, impressive, important slice of America... you absolutely 100% should. Keep your eyes peeled for Bison, Elk, Deer, Bear, Eagles, and eveything in between... just, PLEASE, don't try to touch any of them.
Just a short drive from Pinedale is the Warren Bridge Access at the Green River. This stretch of public land is an incredible spot to post up with your camper or tent at one of the many campsites. Also a wonderful spot to bring your favorite book and a camp chair or blanket just for the afternoon. The area provides full access to the river whether you want to fish for trout, float down on a tube, or just cool off a bit and get you feet wet. It's our favorite local spot to relax and enjoy the lands of little to no cell phone service. Don't forget to buy your fishing license before you start casting. As it's public land, it's free to use and enjoy, as long as you leave it better than you found it... that means please clean up after yourselves :)
Looking for a gym or tennis courts? Got a hankering for a water slide, lazy river, or pool? Maybe you want to play basketball or indoor rock climb? THIS is the place to be! A very affordable way to enjoy these creature comforts at just $11/day for out-of-town guests.
A great hidden gem. If you can make it through the awkward moment of walking into a very small town (Population of 108) bar, where everyone stares are you blankly for 5 seconds... you'll have a great time! Once you get over that hump, they'll smile and welcome you and make you feel right at home. If you need to send a letter, the post office is right across the street ;)
It's touristy. It's fun. It's right across the street from the famed four antler archways of Jackson, Wyoming. There's great live music, and dancing, and sadles made into bar stools. Plus, there's all the Wyoming gift shops you could possibly dream of no more than 50 feet away. Yee-haw, baby!
Looking for a full service guided fishing trip while in town?! This is our #1 recommended guide company to take you out on the water. Just book your trip and they will take care of literally every aspect of your day on the water. All you have to bring is yourself and a smile for all those great photos of you holding beautiful Wyoming trout!
A local favorite for relaxing and easing muscles sore from mountain adventures, Granite Hot Springs is a natural hot spring – complete with campground, swimming pool, and soaking pool – nestled in the Gros Ventre Mountains. It's a little over an hour drive from Pinedale, WY and slightly shorter if you're coming from Jackson Hole. Be prepared for the last 20+ minutes to be on a bumpy forest service dirt road. Make sure to have the GPS already loaded with your destination when you leave town. The last 30 minutes of your trip will be without cell phone service until you reach the hot springs. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks.
Happen to be spending some time in Jackson Hole while on your trip?! There is an easy trek south to a beautiful hot spring park located right off the highway 20 minutes south of town. Astoria Hot Springs features six different man-made soaking pools filled with natural thermal waters, which are controlled at different temperatures in each pool. Situated within Astoria Park and along the banks of the Snake River, Astoria Hot Springs is one of Jackson Hole’s most unique outdoor experiences and family-friendly activities.
