Wynter and Mike met each other in Fargo, ND on January 29, 2020. Our first date was on February 2, 2020 and we officially began dating on February 15, 2020. Since February 2, we spent almost every single day together and decided to move in with each other in October of 2020. After living together for almost a year, we decided to move back closer to Mike's family in Minnesota, and found our home in Monticello, MN.

Mike brought his Grandmother with him in October, 2021 to Loch Jewelers in Monticello to have the engagement ring crafted. She offered to give Mike the diamond off her original engagement ring from her late husband, Mike's Grandfather. It was very sentimental, as Mike loves and misses his Grandfather so much, so to have a part of his grandparents with us is so special. Mike carried the ring in the proposal box everywhere we went between October and December, waiting for the "right time" to drop on one knee. Finally, on Christmas Day, his brother-in-law, Rick Cartwright, pushed him saying if there's ever been a "right time" it was now. So he grabbed the ring, invited everyone into the living room for a "Family Christmas Dice Game", and popped the question. It was so amazing to have the whole family there to celebrate with us, and it was pretty obvious by all the screaming and crying that they were just as excited to welcome Wynter into the family too!

Since Mike and Wynter moved to Monticello, Wynter had been researching wedding venues since she knew Mike would be proposing soon. After Mike proposed, we worked even harder to find the perfect place for everyone to gather to celebrate our day. Everything was beautiful, but ridiculously overpriced. Finally, in February 2022, Wynter found Majestic Oaks Golf Club on a wedding venue website and booked a tour of the facility. We were so excited to have found a beautiful venue in our budget, that we couldn't wait to tell Amy and Jason (Mike's parents). As fate would have it, without Wynter knowing at all, it just so happens that Amy and Jason had their wedding celebration at the exact same venue 26 years prior. It was so fun to hear their wedding stories and realize we would be able to follow in their footsteps. Just as it couldn't get any better, it turns out Richard and Sandy (Mike's paternal grandparents) had their 50th wedding anniversary at the same venue! Making us the third generation to host a wedding celebration at this venue. Majestic Oaks is everything we've dreamed of, and we're so happy with our decision.
