We're Getting Married!

We met on a cold New Year's Eve when I was a senior in high school and Luke was a junior back in 2015. We both did not expect the other to be at the high school gathering with all of our closest friends. Luke came on a whim, and oh boy, am I glad he did! We spent the night talking, laughing, and getting to know one another. We both knew our relationship was only going to blossom from there. It was pure fate that we met that night.

Luke wanted to take me to a nice dinner and make the night special, as it was my birthday in the next few days. This was not uncommon for Luke, as he is a nice guy but only he knew how truly special the night would turn out to be. Luke convinced me to go get ice cream with him and head to one of our favorite spots together after dinner. I was not eager to make the trip to Dunlap, IL to North Park but I reluctantly agreed. North Park is a set of baseball diamonds in the heart of Dunlap, IL that Luke and I used to go to star gaze and hang out together when we first started dating. Once we made the trip there, Luke and I got out of the car and chatted away for awhile, giggling about how we used to be and how far we have come throughout the seven years of being together. After that, I turned to get back into the car, and then turned back around to see Luke on one knee, asking me for forever. I, of course, said yes!!
