I went on a girl’s trip to Florida in April 2018 with my mom, aunt, Garett’s stepmom and a beautiful friend- and let’s just say by the end of the first night my mom and Tracy (Garett’s stepmom) were planning Garett and I’s wedding!!! A lot of eye rolling coming from me, I mean I had not even met the guy yet, geez! Anyhow by the end of the trip Tracy asked if she could give Garett my number so he could get in touch with me when he returned home from his deployment that June. I reluctantly agreed and then maybe I forgot all about it… until one Monday afternoon in July, my phone rang. We met July 12th, 2018 and I finally found the man that has a heart like mine. We found in each other what we had been searching for! I guess our mommas were on to something… so thankful for them.

Garett LOVES the 4th of July and Fireworks- so that day he was putting on a firework show for me and our family and friends. I had gone to the firework outlet with him to pick up all the fireworks and he had let me pick out my own little garden themed firework box (it was so cute and colorful). So 4th of July night, he said we were starting with my box and I was lighting it... I started freaking out and said I was not doing that because I would probably blow myself up! Next thing I knew he was right beside me with a baby torch and we were lighting the firework box- and as soon as it was lit- I RAN AWAY in the opposite direction that he went. He had to call me back over to him, I was flustered and still not paying attention... it took a few seconds but I finally realized he was down on one knee in front of so many of our friends and family... He barely had the words out of his mouth and I just threw myself at him! Now in a perfect world, I would have backed up with Garett after lighting the firework and he would have gotten down on one knee and asked me to marry him as the fireworks were going off in the background... I love you Garett and I'm sorry I ruined your perfect firework proposal haha! We're so excited to share this next chapter of our lives with you! See you in October!
