We had originally planned to marry this September and were sorting out the details when the shelter in place order went out. As time has passed we have realized that we don't anticipate being able to invite so many people to one location for many months. We also didn't want to postpone the wedding indefinitely, and as so many of our other plans were. Instead, we realized that we could have a small ceremony and marry early this summer instead. The big wedding reception has unfortunately been postponed until likely the summer of 2021; but, on June 6th Wyatt and Alicia will be having an adorable yet intimate beach ceremony (COVID-cautious). Once we have a better idea of what is happening in the world we will post a reception party date!
We first met in the Summer of 2018. We had met on a dating app, and we were pleasantly surprised to make a real connection there. Both of us wanted to meet face to face shortly after sending the first message and so we scheduled a first date to see Shrek The Musical Jr. Sadly, it was sold out right as we arrived, and I (Wyatt) had to improvise. We happened to stumble upon a theater in the park showing of a post apocalyptic play about the human desire to make art & the Simpsons. It was so weird, but gave us so much to talk about! Later that night I would get pulled over for an ongoing electrical issue with my headlight (that James street speed trap!). I was just thrilled to not get a ticket, and was suddenly wide awake and happy to stay out and talk hours into the night with this woman. Now two years and many more laughter filled nights later, we are ready to say "I do".
