Wyatt and Isabella met their freshman year at Mount St. Joseph University in 2020. They were in the same biology lab with Dr. do Amaral. After seeing each other in class and around campus, they knew they needed to get to know each other. They worked on a biology lab together and became close friends, spending time with one another more frequently. Bella loved watching Wyatt's football games and would always be there cheering him on. They continued their friendship for 10 months until (finally) Wyatt worked up the nerve to ask her on a date. They had their first date on October 29, 2021 at Chandler's (a popular restaurant near campus). A few weeks later, Wyatt found out he was moving back home to Greenback, TN to attend Maryville College and continue his football journey. Wyatt and Bella decided they would continue talking and said their goodbyes on December 12th, 2021. After saying goodbye, Bella felt so heartbroken and walked back to her dorm suite, where Wyatt had secretly filled her room with cute messages for her written on post-it notes. Bella then knew she wanted to be with Wyatt despite the distance. She made plans to drive to Tennessee to spend New Year's with Wyatt and a few friends. After that, Wyatt drove to Cincinnati determined to make the relationship official. He asked Bella to be his girlfriend on January 28th, 2022. They continued their long-distance relationship for four years driving back and forth between Maryville College, Mount St. Joseph University, and Union College (a college in Barbourville, KY Wyatt attended his Junior and Senior years). After 4 years of long distance, Wyatt knew he wanted to ask Bella the big question. He had Bella's family stay in town for the 4th of July weekend and they spent time together, watching fireworks and going hiking. After that, Wyatt took Bella out to a nice dinner at the Walnut kitchen in Maryville, TN. He had his mom text him saying there would be a "firefly show" going on at Cade's Cove and they should check it out. Bella, being clueless as always, told Wyatt she wanted to go to the firefly show despite being overly dressed. Once there, Wyatt pulled off to the Elijah-Oliver trail and had a blanket with roses and his Bible set up. He took Bella's hands and began praying over them and before Bella knew it, he kneeled to the ground and asked her the big question on July 5th, 2025.
