It all started when I followed Wyatt on Instagram. I had no idea it would change the trajectory of my life forever! I came across his page when looking at the young adults ministry page at our church. I thought he was cute, and spontaneously decided to follow him. The next day, he followed me back and sent me a message! We immediately bonded over country music. Surprisingly, we had both just gone to the Luke Combs concert the week prior, which was our first conversation starter. He eventually asked me for my phone number, and later called to ask me on a date! He took me to the Beach House Bar + Grill in Kirkland. I still clearly remember the moment we first met in person. He was truly such a gentleman, he picked me up in his truck, opened every door for me, and by the end of that date I knew he was special. About a month later, we became official! I was slightly surprised he took so long to ask me, because I had known I wanted to be his girlfriend for a week or two at that point. We've just been inseparable ever since! It wasn't long until I knew I could see the rest of my life with Wyatt. He showed me time and time again that he is everything I was looking for in a future husband. We get along so incredibly well, have so many of the same interests, and we completely align on our beliefs and values. I am so excited for the immense blessing to have a life partner to serve Jesus with, and I am so grateful to God that He brought Wyatt into my life. Fast forward to December 2025, I knew we'd be getting engaged soon, but I was completely thrown off guard when Wyatt proposed! We were at his family's beach house, and we got engaged right on the beach in front of the beautiful view of the Olympic mountains. I was an emotional wreck, crying the happiest of tears, knowing I get to spend the rest of my life with Wyatt. It couldn't feel more right, and God's timing could not have been better! I am so very excited for what is in store for us for this new chapter of our lives as we get married and start our lives together!
One day I was on my phone and received a notification that someone named Julia Bell had followed me on instagram. I didn't know who she was so I looked at her profile and her first post was her and her friends at a Luke Combs concert at the Gorge Amphitheater. I was confused because I had just gone to that concert with my cousin (and groomsman) Alec. I started to think to myself: "Did this girl somehow see me at the concert and find my Instagram??" I also noticed how cute she was and decided I better message her to investigate. I DM'd her and said "Hey I went to the Luke Combs concert too!". Apparently that wasn't the best opening line because Julia teases me about it to this day. However... I'd say it worked out great! After that we started talking every day and I decided to ask her out on a date so I called her and asked if I could take her to dinner. When I picked her up and saw her for the first time I couldn't believe her hair! It was so big and curly! We went to the Beach House Bar and Grill in downtown Kirkland and got along so well. We bonded over our love for country music artists like Morgan Wallen, Riley Green, and Luke Combs of course. Throughout our relationship I began to realize how sweet this girl was! She would come to all of my hockey games no matter how late they were, even though we lost every time. I saw her love for Jesus in how she loved others and had spiritual conversations with me. I began to fall in love with her more and more. Finally after 13 months of dating I decided I wanted to marry her already! So I bought a diamond ring all by myself (with a shared note and Pinterest board shared with me around 6 months prior). Then I met with her parents and told them my plans. They gave me their blessing and I told Jesse (Julia's sister) that we were going to be siblings! I proposed at my parent's cabin in Hansville, a place that had become special to Julia and I throughout our relationship. I'm happy to say she was not expecting it and was so shocked that I had to say "You have to answer me" after I asked her. I was on one knee for awhile while she was in shock looking at me with her hands over her mouth! That's my view of our story. I'm so excited to be spending the rest of my life with her.
