How We Met

We swiped right on May 14th

Julia and Dylan met during the heat of COVID. Julia had just finished her classes at UGA and have moved back to her parent's house while waiting on an apartment in Atlanta. They downloaded Hinge to meet new people especially during a time of isolation and social distancing. They saw eachother's profile's on Hinge and I would say they were very impressed. Dylan said her Harry Potter picture nearly scared him away LOL. They both had a prompt on Hinge that said "You should not swipe right on me unless.." This was a deal breaker they both listed and Dylan's said "You are not actively seeking a relationship with God" and Julia's Deal breaker was "You must be a godly man not just a christian" This prompt instantly connected us. Julia at the time was working on a construction site and Dylan was working crazy hours at Chickfila so they did a lot of texting. The intentional and consistent texting led to phone calls and facetime calls. They both were getting to know eachother so well even before Dylan asked Julia out on a first date. He asked her what her favorite resturant was and at the time it was Chilis. They had a first date and it went so well they never really stopped spending time together. They both have a shared love of Christ but brought so many different things to the relationship. For anyone that knows these two they know they are ying and yang. They really balance eachother well and are different in so many wonderful ways. Throughout the last 3 years there have been several trips to Hogwarts at Universal, beach trips, cabin trips, and a shared love of music, traveling, and serving together. Dylan proposed to Julia on their two year anniversary in Florida near Universal Studios (of course). Dylan and Julia are best friends who ultimately bring out the best in eachother. Dylan has taught Julia a level of peace, patience, and kindness she has never seen in someone else. There have been career transitions for both of them, major adulting moves such as buying a house together, and the loss of a very close family member. But through the last three years this couple has learned to love, laugh, pray, cry, and rejoice together for all of the amazing things God has blessed these two with eachother. This couple looks forward to showing the world Christ through their marriage and is so thankful God prepared them both for eachother. We hope you can be there to celebrate our wedding for it is ultimately a celebration of 2 becoming 1 and how God brought two imperfect people together.
