Where is Montenegro?

Montenegro is a nestled along the stunning Adriatic coastline, situated between Croatia and Albania. Located north of Greece and directly across the sea from Italy, this beautiful destination offers travelers convenient access to the rest of Europe. If your travel plans allow, consider exploring further by taking advantage of affordable flights from budget airlines like Ryanair, EasyJet, and Aegean Air, which operate conveniently from nearby Dubrovnik or Tivat airports.

Do they speak English in Montenegro?
Answer
Although their native language is Montenegrin, English is widely spoken in the main tourist areas of Montenegro. Everyone you encounter will be able to speak English.

Will I need a passport or visa?
Answer
Yes, you'll need a valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity before your return home. While U.S. citizens do not require a visa for Montenegro, travelers passing through the United Kingdom will need to secure an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for £16, which is mandatory even for brief layovers.

What is the currency?
Answer
Euros, we suggest you exchange money at the airport before you leave the US. In Montenegro they will not exchange money or accept US dollars. Most shops and all restaurants will accept credit card but you will need cash for taxi services.

How do you get around Bay of Kotor?
Answer
There are public buses that cost 5 euros that run between the cities. You can also travel to the cities in the bay by boat. Make sure you have cash on hand for transport. If you would like you can also download the app ‘Red Taxi’ to call taxi service or WhatsApp +382 67 019 719

How far is the airport?
Answer
Tivat Airport is approximately 20 minutes from the hotel locations, self transit will be required. Dubrovnik Airport is approximately 1.5 hours from the Bay of Kotor. We'll provide convenient airport transfers on June 12th and 13th, with departures at 1:00 pm and 6:30 pm, and return trips to the airport on the 17th at 7:00 am and 12:00 pm. For those arriving outside these scheduled times or to Tivat airport additional transportation can be booked through www.montenegrinatravel.com.

What is the weather like?
Answer
In June, the weather ranges between a low of 59 F to a high of 80 F. We suggest bringing some layers as there can be surprise rainstorms.

We want you all to bring your favorite travel companion; therefore, everyone will have a plus one.

What date do we need to rsvp?
Answer
Final RSVPs are due March 15th 2026 but sooner you get in your information the better we can accommodate you.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The entire wedding day will be outdoors. If there is rain, then we will have the reception under cover. The welcome party will also be outdoors so we suggest you bring a light jacket as you will be going to a higher elevation which will cause the temperature to drop.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?
Answer
Convenient shuttle transportation will be provided between our hotels and the wedding venue. Please meet at the red and white pole by the water to board the boat. We have scheduled two return shuttle times for your convenience at 11:30 pm and 1 am.

Are you registered? Where?
Answer
Please do not feel obligated to buy gifts, your presence at the wedding is all we ask for. Having you travel far and wide for us is the biggest gift we could receive. If you choose to get a gift we are registered on Zola and William-Sonoma.
