FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

Once you receive your formal invitation, it will link you to this website, where you can RSVP on the designated tab. Please make sure to RSVP 'yes' or 'no' by June 15th. This allows us to give our vendors a correct count prior to the wedding.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’ve worked hard to create a guest list that allows us to celebrate with our closest family and friends. If your invitation includes "and Guest," then we’d love for you to bring a plus one! If it’s just your name, we’re looking forward to celebrating with just you. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to see you there!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We adore your little ones, but for this special day, we’re keeping the celebration mostly adults-only. If your child is specifically listed on your invitation, they are welcome to attend! Otherwise, we kindly ask that you make it a fun night out for yourselves. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy the evening with us!

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be at Tudor House at Mason's Cove in Akron, OH, right next to the beautiful Portage Lakes State Park. Everything is in one place, so no need to travel between venues!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our friends and family dressed up with us! We’re going for summer formal! Here’s what that means: Ladies: Dresses should be midi/tea-length or full-length—no short dresses, please. Gents: Dress pants or khakis and a jacket are required, but a tie is optional. Light, summery colors and prints are encouraged! Please, no jeans or white!

Question

Will the events be inside or outside?

Answer

All of the festivities will be outdoors! - The ceremony will be under tree cover, but you’ll be walking on grass and some gravel. - Cocktail hour will be on a concrete patio, with umbrellas and seating available. - The reception will be in a large covered tent by the lake, with concrete floors and pathways to the restrooms.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

First off, thank you so much for travelling the distance to celebrate with us! Within the 'Travel' tab of this website, we have provided our recommendations for accommodations near our venue .

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes! We’ll have a shuttle bus running to and from the Residence Inn Akron South/Green and it's neighboring hotels. See the 'Travel' tab for more details about the hotels included. Departing from the hotel at 2:45 PM and 3:20 PM. Returning to the hotel in loops starting at 8:00 PM.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! Here’s the breakdown: Handicap parking is available close to the house. Immediate family, vendors, and the bridal party will have reserved spots near the house. Additional parking is available along the driveway fence and in the Portage Lakes State Park parking lot (just next door). 🚨 No overnight parking is allowed—so plan accordingly! We encourage you to use the shuttle.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 4PM, so we recommend arriving around 3:30 PM to find parking, grab a pre-ceremony drink and find your seat. If you're taking the shuttle be sure to be outside in time for one of the shuttle pick up times listed above.

Question

Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony? Can I post them?

Answer

We have hired an amazing photographer named Lauren and videographer named Caleb, and they will be there to capture all the moments of the ceremony and the rest of our day. We do kindly ask that phones be put away during the ceremony portion. Feel free to take as many photos/videos once the ceremony is finished and post away!

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Absolutely! - Pre-ceremony drinks will be available. - An open bar will be flowing from cocktail hour through the night. - Cocktail hour includes hors d'oeuvres, followed by a buffet dinner with bread, salad, beef and chicken entrées, and sides. - Desserts & a late-night to-go snack will be served! If you have dietary restrictions, note them on your RSVP, and we’ll do our best to accommodate!

Question

What time does the wedding end?

Answer

The reception will wrap up just before 10:00 PM due to a noise ordinance. But if you're not ready to call it a night, we’ve reserved the bar area at the Residence Inn for an after-party (cash bar).
