We would recommend staying in TST. We have not booked a hotel block so that guests can pick a place based on their personal preferences and/or budget.
Travel Note
This is the business district of Hong Kong. All the finance that runs the city is here and also draws the high end of things. You can spend a lot of time here but make sure you carve out time to go elsewhere. Just about all the skyscrapers are linked by bridges between the buildings and that is the preferred way to get around rather than street level to avoid traffic. It is easy to get lost amongst all the buildings though. Activities Shopping – Any high-end brand for apparel and watches will be here. Most likely not too many deals to be had because of the huge influx of Mainland Chinese money that’s coming in to buy real luxury items. IFC Mall is really popular and is a monstrosity. The Landmark is famously the most expensive retailer in the world or was at one point in time. The Peak – This is the vantage point that looks out at Hong Kong Island and then to Kowloon. It’s a pretty view at night. Touristy as hell but the girls do like to take their Instagram pictures here. There are some restaurants and shops up there but it is not worth your time to stick around for anything other than the view. Two ways to get here: the Tram which is an old tram. If it is the weekend, this will be packed and be an hour+ wait to get up there. There are also minibuses, cabs, and buses that will get you to the top which are way cheaper. Mid-Level Escalators – It’s a set of escalators that take you up the steep steps up Central. A lot of the more well-to-do live in this area and the surrounding areas around the escalators are filled with some cool restaurants, shops, art galleries, and museums. Take exit D2 from the Central station and head up the Queens road Hollywood Road (Sheung Wan) – This is famous for its antique shops. Cool place to go see but everything is overpriced. I wouldn’t buy anything from there. The Man Mo temple is also nearby which is a pretty old temple in the middle of the high rises. Restaurants - See "Food" tab

This area gets away from the finance oriented part of town. There are some seedier areas particularly around Lockhart road in Wan Chai that also happen to have a lot of bars but otherwise, this is a great part of town. Good food that is more reasonably priced in this area. Activities Shopping – Also a massive shopping area. Pacific Place. SOHO, Times Square, etc. Restaurants - See "food" tab

This area of Hong Kong is a bit more authentic in my opinion. A lot of the old ways of setting up markets are here where all of one type of item is sold together. There’s a goldfish market, jade market (don’t buy jade there. notorious for fakes), bird market, flower market, sneaker street, camera market, computer market, etc. Let me know what you are interested in buying and I can point you in the right direction. TST is a hopping area. There is a lot more diversity here. There’s a little India in the Chungking Mansions, backpacker hostels, etc. Activities Shopping – In all the random markets. I think the flower market is kinda cool because you see all kinds of weird tropical asian plants. Sneaker street is something else if you are into show fashion. Camera and Computer are pretty specific. Ladies market runs through a lot of it so you can probably knock out a couple of these. Bruce Lee Statue – On the boardwalk in TST. Nothing too special but some people like it. Hong Kong Island Lightshow – The skyscrapers coordinate a light show every hour or so at night. The Kowloon side on the boardwalk is kinda a cool place to see it. Museums are all on this side. Afternoon Tea – A holdover from the British, the afternoon tea usually has a choice between British or Chinese. Can be cool at some of the higher end places. I would recommend the InterContinental because it has a sweet view of the island. The Peninsula is also pretty sweet. Restaurants - See "food" tab
