Venue

Nestled in the heart of Pasadena, the Shakespeare Villa is a historic Italian Renaissance Revival–style mansion commissioned in 1928 by female philantropist and patron of the arts, Josephine P. Everett.
After her passing, the mansion passed through several hands, including a period of occupancy by U.S. Government agencies during World War II. In 1971, the Villa was purchased and lovingly renovated by The Shakespeare Club, Pasadena’s oldest women’s literary study group, founded in 1888.
Since then, The Villa has served as a venue for countless different events and celebrations. In 2018, it was granted Architectural Landmark Designation by the City of Pasadena. Monument status will be pursued in honor of the Club’s upcoming 50th anniversary at this historic residence.
We are beyond honored to be adding our love story to the rich history of this home.
