It all started at the one and only Michigan State University. Amanda was in her second year pursuing a degree in business, while Connor had just started in the fascinating field of turf grass. Connor lived in Mason Hall, and Amanda lived across campus in McDonnel Hall. So you maybe wondering how they ever crossed paths? Well, Amanda had been a part of a Christian organization on campus, call Cru, and had a solid group of friends that lived in her building. At Cru's annual barn dance, Connor had met some of the guys that lived in McDonnell, and started hanging out with the same friend group that Amanda had. By December of that year Connor decided he didn't want to live in Mason anymore and decided to move to McDonnell, two doors down from where Amanda lived. After a solid year of being friends Connor was off to South Carolina for the summer while Amanda stayed in Michigan. That following September they returned to the banks of the Red Cedar. About a month into the semester Connor asked Amanda to go to the one and only Tasty Twist for some ice cream. Amanda had just gotten back from a fishing trip up north and was tired and smelled like a not so fresh piece of sushi, but she decided to go anyway. She must have liked him? Or maybe it was the ice cream... Anyway, later that night, outside McDonnell hall, Connor would ask Amanda if she wanted to go out on a date. I think we can all guess the answer to that ;) Not even a week later Connor and Amanda went on their first date to Olive Garden and the MSU Gardens. They both went on to graduate from MSU, Connor in 2019, and Amanda in 2020. After that they moved to Kentucky for Connor to pursue his love of all things grass (the legal kind), and for Amanda to start her career in logistics. While back home in Michigan for Thanksgiving, Connor would take Amanda on their first date again, with a couple of pandemic twists of course. Connor would get on one knee in front of the iconic Beaumont Tower, and ask Amanda to be his wife!
