Quentin and Amanda went down to Mountain City, TN at the beginning of March ‘23 to celebrate Quentin’s 30th birthday! And work a little on a 2.8 acre property they acquired in 2022. Little did Amanda know that there was more to that trip. {After you’ve been together for 6.5 years, you don’t ever EXPECT a proposal.} On the 4th day of their trip, they went up to Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. A few pit stops up the mountain to sightsee, eat lunch and gift shop, Amanda & Quentin made it to the top. They crossed the swinging bridge where Quentin wanted to proceed to the very edge of the mountain. Amanda was pretty apprehensive because there were quite a few people out there and the walkway was skinny. After finally convincing Quentin that she was NOT going out there, they headed back down the mountain. Thinking that was the end of the journey, Amanda was ready to head back down. As we headed a few feet down the mountain, there was another look-out area. Quentin mentioned stopping there to get more photos to send to family. Amanda was thinking "Why??" We had stopped many times along the way up and had plenty of pictures. So, Quentin pulled into a parking spot and asked Amanda if she was going to get out. She said, "no, I'm good". So he opened the passenger door and got down on one knee. The rest is, well, ya know...
