Maid of Honor
Our friendship is more like a sisterhood, and I can't picture my life without her in it. We met in our first year at Charter Oak High School through a mutual friend in choir. I had no idea that we would become so close through high school, community college, and now, adulthood. Wendy is my accountability partner and pro bono counselor; she is my pick-me-up on a gloomy day. I'm extremely blessed to have my beautiful hype-woman as my HBC.
Best Man
Patrick and I met in our first year of high school, and we practiced with the varsity basketball team at St. Monica Catholic High School. We have always been friends, even when I got him in a LOT of trouble for trying to throw a party at his parent's house. Whenever I come home to California, Pat and I make it a mission to hang out. Shoot, he even came to D.C. when I was out there. Patty - Love ya buddy!
Bridesmaid
Full-time, she's blood. Part-time, she's my stylist and creative muse. We never got along when we were younger, but as we got older, I learned to appreciate my sister. Natalie's a diamond in the rough, tough-talking, but honest, even generous. She's never afraid to speak her mind, especially when it concerns my taste in clothes and accessories. Best part: she has a gift to turn any Target clearance item into a Pinterest-worthy DIY project. My special day wouldn't sparkle without her magic touch.
Groomsman
It's not often in life that you meet someone you admire to be like, but Antonio is that guy. Since I first began my journey moving to D.C. for my Ph.D. program, Antonio has been instrumental in serving as a sounding board for my thoughts and ideas. Moreover, he has been a steady rock for me to lean on, talking about faith, religion, politics, and sports. FYI: Antonio has a Ph.D. and is brilliant. Special kudos to Antonio standing with me whenever I had a crazy idea to do something out of the ordinary at Shiloh.

Jamie's a Queen. She marches to the beat of her own drum and shatters glass ceilings left and right. I understand why James loves and respects his sister so much. Jamie's a phenomenal go-getter, who challenges the status quo and does it with confidence, humor, and finesse. Picture me with heart eyes for EVERY opportunity she takes on. She's just so BA! I'm taking notes, sis. In all seriousness, I am truly excited and grateful to have her as a sister, mentor, and positive role model in my life.
Groomsman
Man, Sacoto and I have been rocking since he moved from New Jersey. Both of us are excellent athletes and both of us underachieved (academically) in high school, BUT look at God’s Grace! We both earned our Ph.D.s and live our lives as game changers! (Side note: He helped get me one of my first jobs at Martin’s Cadillac dealership in Santa Monica).
Bridesmaid
Kris never left my side when we were little. We would play "Follow the Leader," and Kris was always second in-line. It's not to say that she was clingy, but it's to say that she helped me recognize my leadership potential. She looked up to me as a role model, and in retrospect, I wish I looked up to her because she's candid and free-spirited. Kris lives life to the fullest, sometimes on the edge (lol), and treats it like an adventure. I admire her for her energy, loyalty, and commitment to others. She's a ROD4L.

Michael is one of the most upstanding guys that I know. He is never afraid to speak truth into power. We met in our Master's Degree program and we have been very close friends since then. His wedding was the first wedding I attended and thought MAYBE this marriage life is for me. Thanks for being a great friend, Michael.
