To our beloved friends and family:

Due to the ongoing and ever-changing COVID situation, as well as my ongoing health concerns, we have decided to combine our marriage and honeymoon into one as an elopement. Please know this decision was not made lightly and we appreciate your understanding. -Wren

How We Met

As told by Wren

A few years ago, if you had told RJ and I that we would get married someday, you would have been met with some confused (and slightly uncomfortable) laughter. When RJ and I first met, we were both in long term relationships. At the time, RJ was working at Noodles & Company with my then significant other. We definitely hit it off right away. We had some shared interests (Mindless Self Indulgence and Borderlands both come to mind) but a lot of our connection was just sort of natural. Unfortunately, our friendship at first waned a bit due to some unusual events, but we would still sometimes banter back and forth with each other on Facebook.

Wren Tries to Flirt (Badly)

(Spoiler alert: it ended up working somehow)

Several years later, when both RJ and I were both single, I realized that I thought he was attractive, absolutely hilarious, and overall just a good guy. So I did the only thing there was to do...flirt. Er, well, I tried. I sort of just started talking about my car breaking down for some reason and thought that would lead somewhere. I don't know, flirting is not my forte...

Our First Date and Beyond

Wherein Wren talks even more (surprise!)

ANYWAY, several months later I realized that I had not done the best job and tried a more obvious approach. Thankfully, this time my straightforwardness worked out for me. After a week or so of messaging all day every day, we had our first official date. And I definitely did not say "I love you" about an hour in...it's fine. In all honesty, though, even if we hadn't worked out, I would never regret saying it then and there. I really did feel it in my heart that he was the one for me. I believe what RJ and I have is truly a once-in-several-lifetimes relationship. We both understand how to give and take, we can both be real with each other no matter what, and most of all I think both of us generally adore each other. I'm so excited to take this next step in our lives and our relationship. Thank you for reading!
