We met through mutual friends during our Freshman year of college at the University of Washington Seattle. Some of our friends decided to go to an event called "Fred Meyer Night," which was a time where all UW faculty and students had exclusive access to the Fred Meyer store closest to campus for an entire evening. That store was PACKED, but our group had fun time trying to find our way through loads of people just to find a simple trash can or pack of closet hangers. After the Fred Meyer event, we explored a few well-known parts of Seattle such as Gas Works Park and the Fremont Troll. Ryan and I had the chance to finally get to know each other that evening and realized quickly that we had a similar sense of humor. In the months to follow, both of our friend groups would hangout often, given that most of them (including Ryan) lived in the same dorm on the west side of campus. We found ourselves talking to each other more at these hangouts and eventually starting texted each other personally. More texts eventually led to casual lunch dates on campus which led to our first official date in April of 2017. The amount of smiles, laughs, slight awkwardness and feeling of genuine kindness made it so easy to start falling in love with one another. Not long after that, we officially started dating and have seen so much beautiful growth in our relationship since then. Throughout the rest of our years in college, we supported each other through both the exciting and stressful parts of life (i.e., learning how to handle finances, applying for majors, navigating friendships, etc.). One of the most impactful experiences we had was getting involved in a Christian ministry called Cru. This community made us feel so cared for and gave us some of our closest friends that we have today! Needless to say, we are incredibly grateful for our family and friends who poured into our relationship and helped it develop into the bond that it is today. We love you all! ♥
