He Asked for My Number

June 22nd, 2024

At a backyard grill out at a church member's home, I played cornhole for the first time with him and we each rode a zipline. Afterward he asked for my number so that I could send him the video of us on the zipline, and we began talking...Very smooth.

A Relationship Could Work

September 15th, 2024

I mentioned to Caleb that I was writing a questionnaire regarding core values, lifestyle, and beliefs so that I had a rule of thumb for what questions I would ask someone interested in courting me. He liked the idea and wanted a copy for himself. I sent it to him and we ended up discussing it and filling it out together, finishing it early November of that year. We were each impressed by the other's answers and realized independently that a relationship between us might just work.

Our Courtship is Official!

November 26th, 2024

After our church's Thanksgiving Service, Caleb officially asked me if he could court me. I later found out that I was the last to know, as he had asked my folks for permission beforehand. I said yes!

Our First Date

December 1st, 2024

Our first unofficial date was a walk around the Civic Center park in the snow, and then home for cocoa and a chat.

Our First Official Date

January 3rd, 2025

Caleb took me to Madison's Cafe where he tried mussels for the first time. Then we brought ice cream as we walked around the Governor's garden and the Capitol building, looking at the memorials, fountains, and architecture and taking plenty of goofy photos. Next, we headed indoors to explore its many rooms, including an inpromptu guided tour of the House Lounge with the mural by Thomas Hart Benton, who did many of the Capitol's paintings.

He Proposed!!

July 20th, 2025

Caleb took me to a fancy restaurant nearby for dinner after church. We had a wonderful time of delicious food and fun conversation. Then, rather than going home, he drove us to our park to take a walk while the sun set. There we came across a beautiful blanket strewn with baskets of flowers, and there he proposed! Both his photographer sister and mine had been waiting in the tree line to photograph the event and captured it beautifully. We all met back at the house where music and pictures of us had been set up, and where my family and his mother and sister were all there to see the ring, hear stories, and celebrate.
