Andrew Worden

and

Emily Boss

Omena, Michigan

The Beginning

Emily's job is a little bit of a mixed bag. Included in her responsibilities is writing congratulations cards for promoted employees - about three years ago, Andrew happened to be a promoted employee. Upon the delivery of his card, Andrew was endearingly awkward...and silent. He followed up the encounter with an instant message thanking Emily for the card, to which she responded, "You know that's from Hagerty, not me, right?" (Ouch). A couple weeks passed, and both noticed they were included on an invite for an outing with coworkers. Because both were far too chicken to directly ask the question, neither ended up knowing if the other was going (sigh). Once the night came, Emily texted her friend asking for who all was downtown so she "knew who to look for when she got to the bar" - AKA, if Andrew's name isn't in the list, she's not coming. Lo and behold, Andrew was included in the list, so Emily made her way downtown. Once she got to the bar, one of her friends snagged her and asked, not so subtly and in front of the whole table, "So, what do you think about Andrew?" Emily got a little sweaty and said, "I don't know him that well...he's cute!" to which she responded, "Great. Because he likes you, but nobody's doing anything about it so the seat next to him is yours.". From that night on, the duo's time has been spent laughing - always laughing - and falling more and more in love with one another every single day. Thank you for celebrating with us.

Our Wedding Day

After making the decision to postpone our wedding celebration in the spring of 2020, we decided that although the celebration could wait, the marriage could not. With the flexibility, generosity and creativity of our family and wedding party members, we quickly reimagined the day from a 250-person gathering to an intimate, 23-person day. Sitting on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay, Shady Trails Summer Camp became our new venue, and the beautiful, rustic cabins and lush green woods surrounding it set the backdrop for the start of our forever. Although we so were looking forward to celebrating with everyone this June, we simply do not feel comfortable encouraging more than 250 friends and family from near and far to gather together so soon. We are so grateful for your friendship, understanding and well-wishes as we continue on our married journey together.
