If you’re looking for something ~spooky~ look no further than a Hearse Tour. This tour takes you throughout downtown in back of a modified hearse, exploring about Savannah’s dark and haunted past. Since our wedding is in October, we highly recommend checking this out. Space is limited- 8 people per tour, so book this well in-advance to secure a spot! The best way to reserve is to call the company directly, and they offer to pick you up at your hotel if you’re staying downtown.
This is Savannah’s hottest new district, right on the Savannah River. Enjoy a drink at Electric Moon Rooftop Bar for an unbeatable view of the bridge and river. Explore the river walk where you will find many dining options and catch live music.
If you’re looking enjoy Savannah’s rich art scene, look no further than the Telfair Museums. One ticket allows you access to three different museums. The Telfair Museum houses decorative art from the 19th and 20th century. The Jepson Center for the Arts features contemporary art and sculptures, with a cafe. Last but not least, the Owens-Thomas House and Slave Quarters offers a glimpse into early 19th century Savannah and explores the complicated relationship between the most and least powerful people of the time. Tours focus on the art, architecture, and history of the home through the lens of slavery.
Forsyth Park is a can’t miss! Take a stroll under the giant Live Oaks that span the park, and snap a picture in front of the famous Forsyth Park fountain!
Two Tides Brewery offers a fun and funky take on beer. Located in the Starland District in a Victorian home-turned brewery, they have a wide variety of beers and slushees, and they are famous for their unique sours! This is one of our favorite places to hang out with friends and relax on the weekends (and sometimes after a rough weekday).
Starland Yard hosts Morgan and Woody’s go-to Monday date night, music bingo! Even if you won’t be in town on Monday, Starland Yard is an outdoor all-ages food truck plaza made completely out of shopping containers open 7 days a week! Two Tides is around the corner, along with many funky shops to explore.
If you’re looking to experience ~island life~ head out to Tybee Island! Tybee is about a 30 minute drive from downtown, and offers a fun, laid back day. While you’re there, check out the Crab Shack, Woody’s go-to birthday restaurant! Tybee is truly one of a kind- a kind of place where no shoes, no shirt still gets you service. There are shuttle services out to the island from downtown and back!
Colonial Park Cemetery is located in the middle of the Historic District and is known as one of the most haunted areas of Savannah. Originally serving as the first public burial ground in Savannah, its size was reduced to make room for a growing city, but the graves were never relocated- streets and buildings were constructed right over plots. They say you’re never more than 6 feet away from a grave in Savannah, and this is a big reason why!
