How We Met

1.22.15

We met while working the North American International Auto Show aka the show in Detroit at Cobo Hall! We were both Brand Ambassadors for Chevrolet- meaning we would be interacting with consumers and doing a variety of fun, different jobs throughout the show while in the Chevy display. We both remember being intrigued by one another during training and officially meeting when we were placed in the same virtual reality experience to work at. Where we were talking nonstop and eventually got separated for having too much fun at work. We had taken a walk together after work and just chatted about our lives and felt such a connection. Eventually we went out to the 'Grand Trunk Pub' for food and drinks, talked all night and shared many stories. Sparks were flying and our hearts were twitterpated. We both shared a similar story later on in our relationship of asking ourselves during this night, "what is happening and who is this person" :) Little did we know, our story was just beginning.

The Proposal

10.15.22

It was the day after Emily's birthday and Woodrow had made reservations for brunch at a restaurant downtown Detroit, all of this was a planned surprise for Emily. They parked up on top of Cobo Hall (now renamed to Huntington Place). They were chatting and sharing the many different memories they have together within those halls, how they met there and how that was where it all began. They took a familiar door outside, one they had walked out together when they first met and shared a walk more than 7 years ago sharing stories and getting to know each other all that time ago. Woodrow looked to Emily and got down on one knee, pulled out the ring in a wooden box while proceeding to say many sweet things while asking her to marry him! It felt like a whirlwind of a moment, time stood still and suddenly there was a person taking pictures and passerby's were cheering for them, as Emily regained her focus and couldn't stop smiling, she promptly said YES!! They continued to celebrate their fresh engagement by having brunch with drinks at their first date spot, the 'Grand Trunk Pub.' Their friend Meg had been the sneaky photographer capturing this beautiful moment between them so perfectly. The surprise and awe in the photos captured is as real as their love. We're so excited and looking forward to celebrating with everyone come April! :D
