Bride
Megan is currently attaining a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Memphis and will graduate in August 2026. In undergrad, she was an English: Literature and Linguistics major at Rhodes College. While there, she did extensive research cross-analyzing medieval/renaissance literature with ecclesiastical music and motifs. This study was aided by her classical training and participation in the Rhodes Singers Chorus, MasterSingers Chorus, Rhodes Chamber Singers, and a few operas. Surprisingly, this all transferred over well for her master's program! What she used to apply to the page is now applied to speech therapy for children. Beyond helping children, she focuses on her own cat child, Marlowe. Now she is embarking on a journey of mothering 4 cats with her sweet, soon-to-be husband, Carson!
Groom
Carson recently returned to Memphis to work for LSI as a Controls Engineer after completing his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Rockhurst University! But, did you know Carson was also a Division II athlete? He played for the university's baseball team, travelling across the Midwest. He did a lot of homework and watched a lot of New York Yankees games on the long bus rides. Upon graduation, he has retired his baseball bat and traded it in for a set of golf clubs. He now obsesses over every little detail of his swing, just like baseball. Outside of work, he spends most of his time playing video games, watching TV, and caring for his cats! His senior year of college, he brought home Levi. When he moved back, he adopted Suki and Sushi! Now he is embarking on a journey of fathering 4 cats with his beautiful, soon-to-be wife, Megan!
Maid of Honor
Abbey and Megan's friendship was made in the corner of the Memphis Airport on their way to sing in Germany for a Rhodes Singers tour. They have performed in operas, choir concerts, senior recitals, and the car on the way to Chick-Fil-A together. The joke at Rhodes College is that Megan and Abbey are twin sisters -- they are close enough, it could get confusing for viewers that they are not, but that truly is a testament to how close the two are!
Best Man
Angel and Carson met (in the good old days) at Christian Brothers High School! They took multiple classes together, and while neither one of them quite remember how they got close, they did. Maybe it was the brutal English class, or AP US history, or sitting together at lunch for a few years? It does not matter how it happened because the two have remained the best of friends, constantly talking and enjoy playing their video games!
Bridesmaid
Kaitlin and Megan's friendship was made over a mutual disliking of Latin at Rhodes College, of course, there they met as Caecilia and Margarita. From then on, they were known to frequent the Cafe E behind campus, rumor has it they still do. Their friendship has taken them all over: London, Edinburgh, the emergency room -- you name it, and they have probably done it together with a smile!
Groomsman
Wesley and Carson met on the Millington Middle School baseball team. They instantly became throwing partners! Once they found out each other had a Playstation, their friendship was truly cemented! Let it be known that, sadly, the two never got to actually face each other in a baseball game, we all know who would've come out victorious from that matchup!
Bridesmaid
Jewelle and Megan's friendship was made over a need for coffee before 7am. When Megan met Jewelle, it was at 6am giving her a ride to church so Megan could serve in the worship band and Jewelle could serve on set up crew. Starbucks and early morning talks were just the start of their friendship. They have gone to Christian conferences, served in the 'How to Life' movement in Memphis, and hung out in discipleship groups at Rhodes College. There is something so sweet about finding a friend in Christ like Jewelle and Megan have!
Groomsman
Tommy and Carson met on the first day of freshman orientation at Rockhurst University, and soon after found out they only lived a few doors down from each other in the wonderful McGee Hall! The two bonded over their mutual interests of baseball, engineering, and basketball. Their usual hangout could be described as Tommy losing to Carson at the ping pong table in their freshman dorm. Even after admitting ping pong defeat, their friendship withstood another 3 years of being roommates! Somehow, they still don't hate each other, and here they are now!
Flower Girl
A new addition to the Wood family! Laila is the daughter of Cameron and Khadjah Wood. Her current favorite things are: Bluey, toys, and serving some serious side eye! She is such a joy!
