Back when both Ian and Taylor lived in Charlotte, NC, they got together with a group of friends to see the midnight premiere of the new Star Wars movie in 2017. Taylor and Ian became friends that night and stayed friends until Ian asked Taylor on their first date in March 2018!

Every year Taylor goes on a family vacation to Duck Beach, OBX. Ian has attended these summer vacations since 2019 and has been a great addition to the Duck crew. In July 2022, Ian tricked Taylor into thinking they were getting a scenic happy hour just the two of them. Afterwards, they went on a walk on the sound side boardwalk and he proposed!
