Hello! Or should we say Hola? We are getting married in Puerto Vallarta at the beautiful Now Amber resort! We would be thrilled to have you join us for some delicious food, drinks (strong ;)), exploring and celebrating in Mexico. As this is a destination wedding, we are asking to limit our wedding guests to only adults. As an option, the resort offers child care, baby-sitting services for an extra charge. We can't wait to see you there!
If we'll have the pleasure of your company at our wedding, we highly suggest booking accommodations at your earliest convenience. February is peak season in Puerto Vallarta, and the wedding hotel will be booking up fast! To assist you with your travel arrangements, we have hired an agent that is booking all rooms for our guests at a special discounted price of $199/ per person per night which includes all food, drinks, AND airport transfers/ gratuities. For a single or triple occupancy room please check with her. She can even assist with discounted airline tickets! You must contact Celia with Berman Travel to book your arrangements at this rate at either (619) 966-9875 or email celia@bermantravel.com
Passports: You'll need a passport to enter Mexico from the United States. NOTE: it must be current within 6 months of your travel date. If you do not have a current passport, please plan ahead, as it may take up to 6-8 weeks to process. For more information, visit: www.travel.state.gov. To/From the Airport: If you are booking your room with Celia with Berman Travel, the shuttle will be included in the price of your room (yay!). If not, transportation from the PVR airport to our hotel is a short 15 minute taxi ride. IMPORTANT: When you land at the PVR airport, there will be several people that look like they work there and telling you to talk to someone at a desk. IGNORE THEM...they are trying to sell you timeshares, tours, etc. Make your way ALL the way outside where you can get a taxi. Do not speak to anyone inside, even if they offer you a taxi or rental car. Uber vs. Taxi: Uber operates in most areas of Puerto Vallarta, including downtown (where the hotel is), Old Vallarta and the Marina. It typically costs 50% less than cabs & the cars are nicer. The best part? They are really affordable! Look to pay around $3 for a 15-minute long Uber ride. Time Zone: Puerto Vallarta is in the Central Time Zone. Dollars vs. Peso: The current exchange rate is about 20:1 – quite favorable to US travelers in Mexico. You can exchange dollars for pesos. If you plan on using ATM or credit cards in Mexico, be sure to notify your banks/CC companies (call the number on the back of your card). Puerto Vallarta is very much an American tourist destination and many bars in the area will take dollars, however the exchange rate will not be as favorable at these businesses. Mobile & Internet Service: Depending on how "disconnected" you want to be, you may be fine using wifi. If you want to be able to use your phone normally and avoid international charges, you should call your mobile service provider. Many service providers now offer regular text/talk in Mexico for no extra charge.
