Of Bumble Beginnings...

It was a simple first date: Pizza and Beer. They had just swiped right and were eager to get to know each other. The pizza was perfect (Prosciutto & Basil) and their dinner conversation was light - focusing on the past, the present, the Panthers and the Predators. As they were saying their goodbyes, a certain someone mentioned he had tickets to a concert that night. Now, she had never in her life heard of Stray from the Path and Kublai Khan, but he seemed nice, it couldn't be so bad. 20 minutes later she's in a crowded venue, holding his glasses in shock, as he swings under the railing and lands in the middle of the mosh pit, arms swinging and head down. Since that night they've been to countless concerts, and although they haven't gone to a metal show since, this will be one she never forgets.

Trek to Yes

After years of traveling across the country, experiencing the thrill of road trips and camping, the couple decided to take on the Pacific Northwest. The main attraction was a double header for the Kraken against the Preds and Panthers at the Climate Pledge Arena, but the real beauty was the landscape of Seattle. Will had a plan in mind, and all he needed was the perfect opportunity to propose. He and Janice both shared a love for hiking and exploring mountains, so what better way to ask for her hand than on a mountain trail? The morning of the proposal arrived, and Will was ready for the trek, but he had forgotten to mention how difficult the hike would be. They trudged uphill for miles, and although Janice was a good sport about it, her shoes were not ideal for the rocky terrain. Finally, they made it to the top of the hike, and their doubts vanished as they took in the breathtaking scenery. A friendly couple approached them and offered to take a few pictures, which they gladly accepted. As they posed, Will suddenly had another question to ask. He got down on one knee, and the sound of the camera clicks filled the air as he revealed the ring. It turns out that Will had hired these photographers in advance to capture the perfect moment. Overjoyed, Janice said yes, and after taking a few more photographs, they made their way back down the trail. She felt like she was floating on air compared to the arduous climb up.

New Zealand Nuptials

Will and Janice had always talked about traveling to New Zealand, because it almost seemed tailor-made for their love of hiking, exploring, and adventure. So when they decided to elope, they knew exactly where they wanted to go. After a long flight, they arrived in Wanaka, a charming lakeside town nestled among the mountains. They spent the days leading up to their wedding hiking, sightseeing, and savoring the fresh air and stunning views. Originally, the wedding was scheduled for a rainy day, but the couple's wedding planner was able to push it back a day, and they couldn't have been happier with the result. On the shores of Glendhu Bay, with the Southern Alps behind and a clear sky above, they exchanged vows that had them both crying and laughing in equal measure. As if the ceremony wasn't enough, they then flew above Wanaka in a helicopter, landing on Coromandel Peak for a breathtaking photo shoot. They couldn't have asked for a better wedding day. Not ones to waste an opportunity to road trip, they spent the next two weeks traveling from the South Island to the North Island, stopping at every scenic mountain, glacier, vineyard, and hobbit hole along the way.
