Our Story

“We met through the one and only DFCS. I say we knew each other from staffing and transferring cases back and forth. He will tell you he didn’t know who I was until the day I walked into his county office with green hair. I was getting it fixed that day and hated it so so much, but he LOVED it and if it weren’t for that, he would have never noticed me. Don’t worry, though, he didn’t talk to me or anything because of it. In his defense, I did think he was a jerk before we started talking. What can I say? I judged the sunglasses he wore on the back of his head and the way he’d do meetings in his car. Unbeknownst to him, we were already friends on Facebook and followed each other on Instagram. I started “liking” his posts which encouraged him to begin “liking” mine as well. Then, one day, he posted a photo of him holding a monkey. I worked up the nerve to comment on that picture because monkeys are my favorite and I was so jealous. I finally began thinking “huh, this guy is actually cute” and a few days later sent him some random video of a guy in the gym. We have not gone one day without talking to each other ever since. We balance each other out, help each other be the best versions of ourselves, and are probably a little too comfortable with each other. God really knew what he was doing and I am so grateful and so blessed that he chose Stephen for me. He’s put up with A LOT and loves me more every day in spite of it. I cannot wait for my dreams to come true and I cannot wait to have them come true because of him.” - Madison
