Our Story Michael and Mariah met while Michael was in medical school and Mariah was pursuing her master’s degree. At the time, Michael lived in Salt Lake City and Mariah was in Logan. A mutual friend invited them on a mountain biking trip in Moab, where they quickly discovered how much they enjoyed each other’s company—bonding over Ben & Jerry’s, wasabi peas, and exploring the red rocks at the back of the pack. Shortly after, Michael moved to North Carolina to begin his residency. Around that same time, Mariah relocated to Salt Lake City. Despite the distance, they reunited for a week in Florida, where they surfed, fished, and rode roller coasters. That trip left an impression, but the timing wasn’t quite right. A few months after their trip to Florida, Michael moved back to Salt Lake City to continue his residency. They became the best of friends during that year, until Michael decided to shoot his shot. They dated for two wonderful years and have loved doing life together ever since. Some of their favorite things include biking, skiing, tennis, pickleball, being outdoors, going on walks, traveling, cooking, baking, watching movie series, and just hanging out. They’re excited to start this new chapter—together.
