It was 2020, mid-pandemic, and everyone was spending a lot of time online. A mutual friend, Tara, encouraged Wolson to send Adiza a friend request. On June 1, 2020, Wolson messaged Adiza on Facebook asking her what she was reading at the time. This was the beginning of a back-and-forth correspondence that resulted in their finally deciding to spend time together in person in January 2021. With Wolson in Atlanta and Adiza in DC, the pair spent the following year and a half in a long-distance relationship, balancing traveling to see each other with their busy workloads and graduate school for Adiza. In June 2022, Wolson got the band director position at West Springfield High School in Northern Virginia, ending the long-distance portion of their story. They spent the following year enjoying life together in the same city and home before taking that next big step.

In July 2023, Adiza and Wolson, went on vacation in Cancun, Mexico. They planned to do a date night at one of the resort restaurants with a photoshoot beforehand. For reasons unbeknownst to Adiza, Wolson was insistent on getting dressed up for dinner and taking the photos on their first night at the resort. Little did Adiza know that earlier that day when Wolson disappeared for a bit from the pool they were hanging out by, he was arranging the photoshoot and preparing for the proposal. Halfway through their photoshoot that evening, Adiza turned around and found Wolson down on one knee. The rest is history. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
