Randy and I met on his first day of work. It was my very first shift by myself as a nurse and it was his first shift as a nurse resident. A few months go by and we start talking and even begin to see if one another is on the schedule for that night. I knew I started having feelings for him when one random day in January he left a pile of mints on my car hood. Next he gave me a beautiful Valentine’s Day gift and we hadn’t even been on a date. We then went out to breakfast. Eventually I decided to give into all the feelings I had for him and I asked Randy out to dinner. That dinner turned into bowling and the rest of our lives.

On August 15th we both had a few days off from work so we decided to take our dog Peaches to the beach for the first time. After realizing she loved the beach too much we took her back to the hotel for a bath then went back just the two of us. Randy wanted to build sandcastles. So he began to build a sand castle and then turned it into an octopus. Then he asked me to come over and help him. Then he wanted it to look like a heart now. So me thinking the quickest way to do that was step on the pile of sand and then I hit something. I saw it was a jar. I started pushing the sand away and saw there was a note in it. I looked at Randy and he didn’t say anything. I took out the note and read it and when I was done reading it he had the ring and asked me to marry him. Everything happened so fast I didn’t even let him get on one knee. I quickly said yes! And that’s when I saw the ring. It was so pretty I was like I’m not putting that on in the sand. He was like no you’re putting it on. So I ran down to the water rinsed my hands and ran back and he put it on my finger.
