Travel Note
Tish Tang campground is located in the gorgeous Hoopa Valley on the Trinity River and is run by the Hoopa Valley Tribe. It is about an hour drive east from the Arcata/Eureka Airport, and and about a 6 hour drive north from San Fransisco. There are 33 large campsites available. We will be assigning sites to groups based on RSVPs and will send out a map once we are closer to our celebration date. This is a family friendly weekend and we will have a section for families with children in a quieter part of the campground, but PLEASE NOTE that there will be late night music and parties elsewhere on the property. If that isn't your cup of tea, we suggest lodging elsewhere :) If you don't feel like camping but want to be a part of the festivities, there are vacation rental options in the area about 15-20 minutes away in the Willow Creek area. In addition to VRBO and Airbnb, you can book at Coho Cottages: cohocottages.com If you are camping, please come prepared with all of the necessary equipment such as tents, sleeping supplies, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. There is potable water and vault bathrooms on site, and we will have a few more portable toilets scattered around the campsites. There are also two showers and a wood fire sauna up at the top of the campground. There is ample shade from oak trees at each campsite. The Trinity River is a short walk from the campsites and is perfect for swimming, tubing, and general hangout. There isn't any shade along the riverbank, so shade tents would be a great addition for your camping supply list. Please note that we will be serving dinner on Friday night, but you will be responsible for all other food and drink during your stay.
