We met on September 2nd, 2017 - the day we both moved into Ellingson Hall for our freshman year at St. Olaf. Our friendship with each other, along with the rest of our core group, formed immediately, and we all felt very fortunate to find our people so quickly. We all did everything together, which is how we got our infamous nickname. If you know, you know. ;) The two of us were always especially close, though. Most thought we were together or would at least end up together! We didn't think so, though, we always said we were just best friends and we were "too similar" (whatever that means). Luckily, we were wrong! But we didn't realize that for a few years. Fast forward to our junior year, we were all still the best of friends and enjoying college together until our time together was cut short - thanks, covid. We all got sent home and no one knew when we would be going back to school. It was during this time that I (Paige) really thought about the possibility of us being together, so I did what anyone would do: blindsided him with questions about it late one night and then ghosted him for a day. Thankfully, it didn't scare him away and he suggested we go on our first date. Getting takeout was the only "date" option during that time, so that's what we did! We got some amazing food and sat and talked for hours. It was natural and perfect and felt like it was meant to be. After that, we took on an interesting senior year of college together. Nothing was normal but we lived in a house with our best friends and made the most of it! We graduated and got our first apartment together soon after. About a year later, Jack proposed on the beach in Sanibel. It was so perfect and was made even better by the surprise of both families being there to celebrate with us! He couldn't have planned it any better. A few months later, we were getting ready to move out of our apartment since I would be starting medical school in the fall. As if we didn't have enough excitement in our life already, we decided to adopt a dog - our sweet boy, Enzo! We packed up our cars with the two of us, one dog, and one bunny, and started our new chapter as Nebraskans! That brings us to today. I am finishing my first year of medical school, and Jack didn't want to be left out of the studying fun so he decided to start a Master's program. Two, actually! He loves reminding me and my med school friends that he will have more degrees than us by the end of this! We have made some amazing friends and lots of memories here already. Somewhat surprisingly, we love Omaha way more than we thought we would ("Nebraska - it's not for everyone") and love being students at Creighton (roll jays). Our story is so special to us & we can't wait to start this next chapter of our life as husband and wife. Most of all, we are so happy that freshman year Jack and Paige were so wrong!
