One hit wonder Cherub brings Sydney and Ben together for the first time at the Rockaway Hotel rooftop bar with their summer-time classic “Doses and Mimosas”. Ben knew instantly that she was the girl for him, although it seemed Sydney needed the rest of the weekend to be convinced. After leaving each other that weekend and returning to Boston and Quantico, they remained in touch by FaceTiming each other almost every day, even though they both knew it was a little crazy to start a long-distance relationship after just one weekend. Even so, Ben flew to Boston on Columbus Day weekend for their first official date (pictured below) and met close friend Megan Howe and sister Brooke. With Brooke and Megan’s stamp of approval, Ben and Sydney made plans to go to the Marine Corps Birthday Ball the following month. Ben and Sydney danced the night away at the ball meeting Ben’s close friends Pierce, Hunter, and Mitch. As the weekend ended, the two said goodbye to each other at Dulles International Departures. Ben got back into his car and thought, "How did I not ask her to be my girlfriend!?". So, he did what any logical man would do. He left his car in line, threw the hazards on, and chased Sydney to the north security check point where he called her out of line and haphazardly asked Sydney to be his Girlfriend. Sydney answered with a quick yes, a kiss and a hug, then got on her plane as his long-distance girlfriend. Ben’s car was not towed luckily. Fast forward to summer of 2024, after 2 years and 2,000 miles of long distance, monthly trips to each other, and meeting each other’s families, Sydney decided it was time to up and leave her fast-paced lifestyle in Boston to move in with Ben in Kingsville, TX. The day before officially making the 36 hour drive down to Texas with Ben and his Sister Gaby, Ben decided to put a ring on it and proposed to Sydney in Saratoga Springs, NY.
