We first met at a Bible Study in 2022. Monica immediately thought Will was cute and may or may not have developed a small crush. Ultimately, it wasn’t God’s timing, and we got to know each other as friends who love the outdoors. Will eventually moved away for two years, but when he came back to New Jersey in 2024, we started spending more time together. A friend decided to take matters into their own hands and began encouraging (meddling) both of us to consider dating. Will finally asked Monica out. Monica responded with, “I need to pray about it.” After some time, she said yes. We went on a few dates, but somehow both of us were unsure if the other person was actually interested. In a Wendy’s parking lot conversation, we decided to call it off. This is now known as the “Failure to Launch.” A few months later, Will couldn’t stop thinking about Monica and asked if she’d be open to trying again. Monica once again needed to pray about it. (Do you see a pattern?) After consideration, she told him yes. Our second “first date” was rock climbing and grabbing tacos, which instantly felt different than the first time. We then spent five of the next seven days together - running, playing pickleball, hiking, eating good food, and dancing together. We genuinely loved spending time with each other, and it felt easy. We officially started dating on October 15, 2024. Will knew he wanted to marry Monica two months in. Monica needed about five months, but confidently arrived at the same conclusion. On December 26, 2025, Will proposed. Monica did not need to pray about it that time.
