Tanner, (from the small town of Halbur, IA) and Nicole, (from tourist town Clear Lake, IA) met at work! I (Nicole) just made a career switch at the end of 2019 and was lucky enough to be trained by Tanner. While I scanned his desk I found two pictures pinned up... him holding up what I assumed to be a "good catch" and some dogs. No trace of a girlfriend, but something that would take up far more of his time, hunting and fishing. He was so handsome, positive, kind, and everyone in the office loved him. I could see why. Later that week my mom and dad came down to take me out for lunch and I told my dad he would approve of Tanner (he didn't like my last few picks). Only thing is Tanner thought I was joking with him, so I still needed to convince him. I had bought him a valentine's day gift, asked him to go to hockey, left Office memes all over his desk.... what else does a girl have to do to get a first date?! Well eventually he made a comment about needing a date to a wedding and I jumped on that, later the night he slide into my DMs. Little did we know we would celebrate that wedding together 6 months later but, 10 weeks pregnant. When Nicole first came into the office it was hard not to notice her. I (Tanner) knowingly knew how I looked and was well assure she was out of my league. She trained with me for a few days, the whole time I was checking my breath and trying to make the best impression possible. Over the next few weeks when I was told she was into me by my boss, I assumed he was joking with me and trying to make me look like a fool for being into a woman so far out of my league. I was totally oblivious to the kind notes and gestures she was laying down. But how could someone not be into Nicole? She was cute and charismatic. After a few months of back and forth I finally realized I might have a sliver of a shot, so I took it in the form of a Facebook DM. Later that weekend we went on our first date and the rest has led us to this date, 09/17/2022.
