You can't go wrong with a bourbon tasting or tour in Louisville, and many of the distilleries are concentrated on this stretch of Main Street, including Angel's Envy, Old Forester, and Evan Williams. This neighborhood in east downtown (a clever portmanteau of New Louisville) is hopping these days with restaurants, shops, art galleries, and more! It's a great place to find lunch or brunch or just browse the stores.
Waterfront Park and the Big Four Bridge
Stretching along the Ohio River and accessible from downtown, this is a great place to run or walk, and the newish Big Four Bridge is a pedestrian-only, converted railway bridge that will take you over to Indiana (though really you should just turn around and come back).
Kentucky Derby Museum
Maybe Louisville's top claim-to-fame, check out Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum.
Muhammad Ali Center
A museum and multicultural center dedicated to the life and legacy of Louisville-native Muhammad Ali.
